HEAT leaders applaud passage of the Alaska Right to Produce Act

May 1 – WASHINGTON, DC. On Wednesday, RSC House Energy Action Team (HEAT) Chairman Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX), RSC Chairman Kevin Hern (R-OK), and Rep. Pete Stauber (MN-08) released the following after the US Statement The House of Representatives passed H.R. 6285 – Alaska's Right to Produce Act of 2023:

“Since day one of his administration, President Biden has waged a catastrophic war on American energy production. Now, as he turns his attention to Alaska, the President has dealt a devastating blow to Alaska communities and America's energy consumers by drastically restricting energy development on Alaska's North Slope.” This decision goes against the wishes of Alaska's tribes and others working Alaskans who would benefit from the jobs and revenue that the responsible production of these resources would create, but it will also increase energy costs and further entrench our dependence on foreign energy adversaries like Russia and China.

“Energy security is national security, which is why we are proud that today the House of Representatives is passing our bill, the Alaska's Right to Produce Act. This critical legislation will reverse Biden’s harmful actions on the North Slope and bring Alaska’s energy producers one step closer to developing their God-given natural resources.”
