The legendary Biddeford Diner was named the best breakfast spot in Maine

What a run it has been for the culinary world of Biddeford, Maine. From James Beard-nominated chefs to incredible articles in Food and wine magazine and others, it was truly an upward trend for the up-and-coming small town. Biddeford was even featured on Netflix. And now it can claim to be home to the best breakfast spot in Maine, at least according to one website.

The popular culinary experts at LoveFood have published an article about the best breakfast spots in every state. It's a killer array of delicious restaurants, cafes and iconic pubs. The selection for Maine definitely falls into some of these categories. Oh, and it's delicious too. Maine's representative is the Palace Diner.

Of course it's the Palace Diner. I mean, who doesn't love serving upscale brunch food from a dining car that's over 100 years old? It's basically everything that's great about the American culinary scene.

The Palace Diner is run by Greg Mitchell and Chad Conley. The two took over the diner truck in 2014 and received widespread praise for their creative takes on diner classics. The dining car itself is an absolute eye-catcher. This little restaurant has more character than entire cities. It is a very unique culinary experience.

Guests can enjoy incredible breakfast sandwiches, French toast, pancakes, omelettes, corned beef hash and even banana bread. For the brunch crowd, there are more classic dishes like a tuna melt and one of the best diner burgers in the country. If there's one thing I know, you won't go home hungry.

Here's more on why LoveFood voted Palace Diner the best breakfast spot in Maine.

The all-day breakfast menu ranges from buttermilk flapjacks, French toast (pictured) and several plates of the exceptionally crispy potatoes. Very hungry? Fill yourself up with the lumberjack breakfast – pancakes, two eggs, potatoes and luncheon meat.

I'd like to think I could take the lumberjack's breakfast with me. I'm definitely willing to try it.

Ready to try Maine's best breakfast? However, please note that the lunch counter is small, so it may take a little longer to get seated. However, Palace Diner is close to many coffee shops, bakeries and other eclectic shops so you can pass the time while waiting. And the wait is worth it. I can personally guarantee you that. But if you really don't have time, don't worry, the Palace Diner also offers takeout. For more information, visit their website.
