Moose Mountain Adventure Park in Maine offers cool new attractions

After a phenomenal opening season and many new features, one of Maine's hottest new attractions opens next weekend!

Moose Mountain Adventure Park in Richmond, Maine, is an 18-hole Maine-style mini golf park located in the heart of Central Maine, just off the interstate.

Last year was their first year in business, and although they were crazy busy, the city manager didn't say exactly how many people visited – but there were a lot!

According to the Kennebec Journal, husband and wife co-owners Michelle and Jeremy Purington say they have added new attractions this year and are working on more.

The newspaper said that this year, guests will be able to enjoy food from an Amato truck on site.

Additionally, Moose Mountain Adventure Park has added a new mining sluice for kids, according to KJ, and kids can get their own sandbag and sift for gems in the running water.

Also in the works is another 18-hole mini golf course, which they have already started work on and which KJ says the two hope to open at the beginning of next season.

The park is scheduled to open this Saturday, May 4th, Star Wars Day! According to KJ, all guests who show up in Star Wars garb will be able to score free ice cream on Saturday.

Michelle Purington, co-owner of Moose Mountain, told KJ:

“We had a huge crowd last year, we were so full. This felt like a nice, simple addition, doing the mining while they wait and having the Amatos (food trucks). I joked that sometimes it was like we were at Disney World, where it was a 45 minute wait from this point, a 30 minute wait from here.”

Jeremy Purginton, co-owner, told the Kennebec Journal in part:

“When you hear the cheers and laughter in the treehouse, you know they’re having a good time.”
