WATCH: Hear from Bronson and LaFrance in the livestreamed Anchorage mayoral runoff debate

On Thursday evening, May 2, voters will be able to hear the opinions of the two Anchorage mayoral runoff candidates on some of the city's most important issues in a debate co-hosted by Alaska Public Media and Anchorage Daily News.

The live debate with incumbent Dave Bronson and former Anchorage Assembly Speaker Suzanne LaFrance is scheduled for May 2 from 7 to 8 p.m. The debate will be moderated by Alaska Public Media News Director Lori Townsend and Anchorage Daily News Opinion Editor Tom Hewitt.

Ballots were mailed to voters on April 30. Runoff election day is Tuesday, May 14, and ballots must be postmarked on or before that date to be counted.

Voters can also return completed ballots to secure mailboxes in the community or vote in person at one of the city's vote centers beginning May 7.

The debate will be broadcast on Alaska Public Media TV and radio,, YouTube and Facebook.
