Seattle U will be visiting for the first time since 2018

OREM, Utah– Utah Valley Baseball returns home for a WAC series with Seattle U this weekend. The Redhawks will make their first trip to Orem since 2018. The series begins on Friday, May. 3, with an MT contest at 4:05 p.m. The teams will then play a doubleheader on May 4 starting at 12:05 p.m. MT.

The Wolverines host BYU in the Crosstown Clash on Tuesday, May 7, with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. MT. UVU will look to win the season and get its third straight win over the Cougars.

TRANSFER INFORMATION

Friday's game will air on ESPN+, with coverage shifting to WAC International for Saturday's doubleheader. Tuesday's game against BYU will air on ESPN+. Jordan Bianucci and Brice Larson are called up for all games. UVUstats.com also provides live statistics for all games.

LAST TIME

The Wolverines are coming off a 3-1 weekend that included winning a weekend series at California Baptist before finishing with a victory over Utah Tech in the Old Hammer Rivalry in St. George. Utah Valley enters the weekend in fifth place in the WAC with nine WAC games remaining and three games behind in first place in GCU.

ABOUT THE REDHAWKS

Seattle U starts the weekend at 13-31 and 6-15 in the WAC. They defeated their Washington State rival on Tuesday while limiting the Cougars to just two goals. Derek Gellos leads Seattle U in batting average at a .366 clip and has hit three home runs this year. Sam Kane leads the team with eight big flies. On the floor, keep an eye on Blake Smith, who is 4-5 this year with a team-high 4.35 ERA.

ABOUT THE PUMAS

BYU is 17-24 and will play Miami on the road in the Sunshine State this weekend. Easton Jones leads the Cougars with a .308 average and has hit 12 home runs with 31 RBIs. Cooper Vest and Collin Reuter added an offensive punch with eight and seven home runs, respectively. The first meeting in Provo was a slugfest in which the Wolverines rallied from a nine-run seventh inning to win 15-11.

CAMPER EARS HONOR WAKE HITTER OF THE WEEK AWARD

In nine official at-bats, the Allison Park, Pennsylvania, native recorded eight runs, with three of his five hits in the series going for extra bases, while maintaining a .556 batting average with one home run and four RBIs.

Camper is the current career leader in on-base percentage with a .487 mark and finished in the top 10 in home runs during his two seasons in Orem. This year, he is tied for the team lead with 17 home runs and needs one to tie Goose Kallunki for the all-time program single-season record.

HOME RUN RECORD
Daniel Dickinson And Burke Camper have separated themselves from other Wolverines in the home run chase in 2024. Each of them needs one to match Goose Kallunki, the all-time home run leader in a single season, who hit 18 in 2012. Time with 26 and leads current teammate Cole Jordanwho ranks sixth with 24.

The Wolverines will make their final regular-season road trip for a showdown with fourth-ranked Tarleton State May 10-12 in Stephenville. The series could be crucial for seeding in the University Credit Union WAC Baseball Tournament.
