The Michigan men's lacrosse team is making its second straight appearance in the Big Ten championship game, winning its first-ever title with a victory over Maryland in last season's finale. Now they're back after winning a semifinal matchup against No. 2 Johns Hopkins 10-7 on Thursday night in Columbus, Ohio.

The Maize and Blue will face Penn State, which defeated Maryland 19-9 in the semifinals, on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Legendary former Michigan and NFL quarterback Tom Brady was interviewed by the University of Michigan Alumni Association before his graduation.

Penn State scored a long 34-yard gain on a run from running back Kaytron Allen in a 24-15 loss to Michigan last November, but the play is still talked about today because the then-sophomore defensive tackle chased down Allen and made the play Perform a tackle from behind.

“Kenneth Grant was running down the running back in that game, I was completely out of control,” former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who was suspended for the game and watching from a nearby hotel, said the following Monday. “One of the best pieces of the season, this piece by Kenneth Grant. Maybe one of the best pieces ever. Compare it to the game Justin Smith played against the Eagles in my first year as coach of the 49ers. It was a Guardian of Victory type game. Kenneth was dominant in the game. He was the real tone setter from the first season. He plays great. Only in the second year. Enormously.”

Michigan's 13 NFL draft picks in 2024 are the fourth-most all-time by a school in a single draft, trailing only Georgia in 2022 (15), Ohio State in 2004 (14) and LSU in 2020 (14).

“The visit on match day was live. I mean, against Ohio State, and they beat them. Just the Michigan area, it was different out there.”
