Alarming statistics by city, part three EH

This article is PART III of a five-part series focusing on ten different types of crimes committed in Michigan over the course of a year, as reported in the FBI's Annual Crime Report (2021 Analysis). We look at the 424 cities examined alphabetically, focusing on EH or Cadillac to Durand. The previous entries can be found at the link below. The FBI's annual crime report contains a large amount of information; We focus on ten different types of crimes: Violent Felony, Negligent Homicide, Rape 1, Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Property Crimes, Burglary, Theft, Motor Vehicle Theft, and Arson.

This dataset includes cities and towns in Michigan, ordered alphabetically from E to H, and includes two of Michigan's largest metropolitan areas, Grand Rapids and Flint. Which country do you think had more violent crime in 2021 (the year of the FBI analysis)?

Surprisingly, if you guessed Flint, you're wrong. Despite double the population, Grand Rapids saw more violent crime (201,799 compared to 95,212 in Flint), with 1,286 cases reported. Flint was just two crimes behind with 1,284.

That same year, Flint had a total of 23 murders compared to Grand Rapids' 8. The most startling statistic in this data set is the number of rapes, with Grand Rapids reporting an alarming 144.
