Prosecutors say a hearing has been scheduled for the Orlando mother whose daughter fatally shot a woman during a fight

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A hearing will be held Friday morning for an Orlando mother charged with manslaughter, criminal negligence and child neglect as prosecutors say her daughter fatally shot a woman with whom the mother was fighting about two years ago.

Lakrisha Isaac, 33, pleaded not guilty about a month after her arrest on May 30, 2022, in the shooting at the Jernigan Gardens Apartments on Mercy Drive, court records show.

The girl, who was 10 at the time of the shooting, was also arrested shortly afterward, but the Orange-Osceola District Attorney's Office said in a statement that no charging decision had been made.

A witness described how Isaac's daughter picked up the gun after her mother gave her a bag with the gun in it, and soon after used it to shoot a woman who Isaac allegedly approached and had a physical attack with Fight began. The victim – identified by police as Lashun Rodgers, 41 – was at a Memorial Day barbecue with her boyfriend at the time, police said.

Rodgers was shot twice and later died at the hospital, police said.

Isaac's hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m
