Finally, an improvement in the weather forecast. The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has canceled the tornado warning for this morning early, according to a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

As reconstruction efforts continue following Friday's three tornadoes and additional storms that hit the area on Monday, a tornado warning was issued and then lifted before 8 a.m.

Tornado warning for Tallahassee and Panama City lifted early

A tornado warning issued until 9:00 a.m. EDT for the following counties was lifted before 8:00 a.m.:

• Dixie

• Franklin

• Gadsden

• golf

• Holmes

• Jackson

• Jefferson

• Lafayette

• Leon

• Freedom

• Madison

• Taylor

• Wakulla

• Walton

• Washington

Heavy storms no longer forecast; threat for the weekend looms

The National Weather Service answered a question on X about possible severe weather for Tuesday:

“We'll see isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, but they probably won't be severe. We're expecting severe thunderstorms next Sunday, possibly Saturday.”
