DICKINSON, ND — Sam Ovsak had a game-winning single in the seventh inning that brought in a run to give Fargo Shanley a 4-3 walk-off win over Fargo Davies in the semifinals of the North Dakota Class A baseball state championship at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark on Friday.

The Deacons scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn the win. Shanley advanced to the state championship game, which will be played on Saturday, June 1 at 5:30 p.m. (CDT). The Deacons will play Bismarck Legacy.

Legacy defeated Fargo North 12-8 in the second semifinal of the state championship. Second baseman Drew Beasley went 3-for-3 with five RBIs to lead the Sabers. Second baseman Levi Svet had three RBIs for North.

Brielle Wrangham And Bailey Kautzman each had three RBIs to lead Bismarck to a 12-8 win over Minot in the Class A state softball semifinals at Sanford Sports Complex.

The Demons scored six runs in the second inning and five runs in the fifth inning to defeat the Majettes. Ellington Anderson And Avery Lunde had two hits and two RBIs for Minot.

Bismarck has advanced to the state championship game, which is scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m. CDT. Dickinson also advanced to the final, earning a 4-1 win over West Fargo in the second semifinal. Dickinson is the defending state champion.

Ava Jahner had two hits and two RBIs for Dickinson and also earned the complete-game win. She allowed one run on two hits with seven strikeouts.

Experienced second baseman Aubrey Finn had one hit and one RBI for the Packers.
