DICKINSON, ND — Landon Meier had three hits, drove in three runs and scored three runs to help Fargo Shanley beat Bismarck Legacy 11-6 and win the North Dakota Class A baseball state championship on Saturday at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark.

The Deacons won their first state title since 2013.

Shortstop by Shanley Tommy-Simon added two hits and three RBIs. Simon and Meier both hit home runs for the Deacons, who have appeared in three state championship games in the last four seasons.

Drew Beasley went 2 for 4 with three RBIs to lead Legacy.

In the Class A state softball title game, Dickinson continued its recent dominance.

Seniors Ava Jahner And Jenna Decker each had two RBIs to help Dickinson to an 8-2 win over Bismarck and the North Dakota Class A state softball championship at the Sanford Sports Complex.

Dickinson repeated its state championship title and won three of the last four state titles.

Jahner earned the complete game victory by allowing two runs on ten hits, four strikeouts and no walks.

Dickinson scored four runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to overcome a 2-0 deficit. Dr Kautzman And Julia B. each scored a run for the Demons.

Fargo Shanley and Bismarck Legacy will play for the Class A state baseball championship on Saturday night.
