Texas vs. Oklahoma softball live scores, updates, highlights from Game 1 of the 2024 Women's College World Series

This seemed to be the year when the Oklahoma softball team was at its most vulnerable.

The Sooners went 61-1 last season and won the national championship, ranking No. 1 from start to finish. The 2024 season brought a change of pace. Oklahoma fell from No. 1 in April after a loss to now No. 1-ranked Texas. The Sooners entered the postseason with six losses this year, the most since 2019.

So much for vulnerable. Oklahoma beat Texas 5-1 in the Big 12 championship and has lost just one game since reaching the NCAA tournament, en route to its eighth consecutive Women's College World Series appearance. What stands in the way of this Oklahoma team and its fourth consecutive national championship? The only team to win a series against Oklahoma in 13 years.
