Ekta Desai is a central figure in Schenkel Schultzan award-winning architecture and interior design studio based in Orlando, Florida. She is leading a major development within the firm as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.th anniversary. Since joining as Design Lead in 2018, her mission has been to honor the firm's rich history while elevating project strategies. She brings a decade of experience from New York City and Mexico City, and her fresh perspective and creativity have played a critical role in diversifying the portfolio.

Under Ekta's leadership, Schenkel Shultz has adopted a more collaborative and inclusive design methodology, resulting in groundbreaking projects such as the new offices of the Orlando Economic Partnership and the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, and the Porter Family Center for Innovation at Lake Highland Preparatory School. This focus on design excellence has influenced the firm's talent acquisition strategy, which aims to attract individuals who share Ekta's passion for innovative ideas.

Beyond her contributions to the company, Ekta is actively involved in the Central Florida community, serving on the board of directors of the Orlando Ballet and volunteering for events such as the Winter Park Sidewalk Arts Festival.

As one of the few female design leaders in Central Florida's architecture scene, Ekta is a champion for diversity and inclusivity in the industry, believing that embracing diverse perspectives enriches both the quality of design and creativity.
