2024 NCAA College World Series

OMAHA, Nebraska – Kentucky baseball’s 5-4 10-inning win over NC State on Saturday was historic in more ways than one.

Not only was it UK's first game in the College World Series, but it was also the Wildcats' 46th win of the season, setting a program record for a single season. The 2024 Wildcats entered the CWS with the same single-season record as the 2012 club, as both had 45 wins.

But Kentucky's opponent on Monday has been even more successful in winning this season: Texas A&M has 50 wins in 2024 and earned its last victory in Saturday's second game – a 3-2 triumph over Florida that ended well after midnight on Sunday.

Neither the Wildcats nor the Aggies have suffered a setback since the NCAA Tournament began, entering Monday's meeting with identical 6-0 records after sweeping their respective regional and super regional championships.

The winner of Monday's game between UK and Texas A&M will have Tuesday off, while the loser will play in an elimination game on Tuesday against Florida, which defeated NC State 5-4 in its first game on Monday.

First pitch for Monday's game in Omaha, Nebraska, is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

Texas A&M 5, Kentucky 3: The Wildcats have found ways to win since the start of the NCAA tournament. But the Aggies will be their toughest challenge yet. By a long way. Texas A&M has a top-10 offense And Top-10 defense, according to numerous statistical categories. And when the Aggies get the ball in the hands of superstar relief pitcher Evan Aschenbeck, it's game over. In 68 innings (spread over 29 appearances in 2024), he's allowed just 14 runs (12 earned). UK will take an early lead on Monday, but A&M will catch up, and Aschenbeck will shut the door on another win.

Kentucky Baseball Schedule 2024

Kentucky has a 46-14 record in 2024, including 22-8 in SEC play during the regular season. The Wildcats have secured a share of the league's regular season title for only the second time in school history.
