Here's what you need to know about Mexico's return to Arizona against Ecuador

The Mexican national soccer team returns to Glendale next week to face Ecuador in Group B of the Copa Amerìca tournament.

The Copa America is a football tournament that takes place every four years and is played like the Olympic Games or the World Cup. National teams from various regions of South America take part in the tournament. This year's Group B includes Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela and Jamaica.

The tournament winner will receive a payout of $16 million, while the runner-up will receive $7 million. At the 2021 Copa America tournament (which was postponed for a year due to the pandemic), Argentina's legendary striker Lionel Messi helped his home country triumph over Brazil for the first time in 28 years. Argentina is considered the favorite to repeat the tournament.

Here's what you need to know about next week's game in Glendale:

The last time Mexico and Ecuador met in a friendly was in 2022, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw. This year, Mexico comes to Glendale with many new faces after losing goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and strikers Hirving Lozano and Raúl Jiménez.

Ecuador lost to eventual champions Argentina in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Copa America. However, thanks to solid performances in recent matches against Guatemala, Bolivia and Honduras, the team goes into the tournament with a lot of momentum.

Key players to watch for Mexico are returning midfielders Orbelín Pineda and Edson Álvarez. Key players to watch for Ecuador are returning strikers Enner Valencia and Moises Caicedo.

Mexico and Ecuador will face each other on Sunday, June 30, at 5 p.m. at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, home of the Arizona Cardinals.

TV options for watching include Fox, Fubo TV, TUDN, and Univision.

The cheapest ticket currently available for the Mexico vs. Ecuador match in the Copa America tournament is $70 in the top seats of stand 402 at State Farm Stadium. According to SeatGeek, prices range from a minimum of $70 to as much as $453. Fans can also purchase tickets for the game through Stubhub, Vivid Seats, Ticketmaster and AXS.
