Storms cause problems and damage in parts of Maine and New Hampshire

There were several tornado warnings in northern New England on Sunday.

TUESDAY. EMILY PIKE WAS OUT ALL AFTERNOON WITH TRACKER 8 CROSSING WESTERN MAINE, RIGHT ON THE MAINE-NEW HAMPSHIRE BORDER, TRYING TO TRACK THOSE STORM SYSTEMS. EMILY, I SEE YOU'RE STILL IN THE SOUP. I'M TRACKING 66 DEGREES WITH A DEW POINT AT 65, SO IT'S STILL FAVORABLE. TELL ME WHERE YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU SEE. WELL, WE JUST CROSSED THE BORDER INTO MAINE FROM NEW HAMPSHIRE. NOW I THINK WE'RE COMING TO OXFORD. OR AT LEAST JUST INTO YORK COUNTY. WE'RE CHECKING THE BROWNFIELD STORM THAT ROGER JUST TALKED ABOUT. WE'RE ACTUALLY IN A DRY PLACE. I WANT TO SHOW YOU WHAT WE SEE THERE. IT'S WET ROADS. OF COURSE WE'LL BE WATCHING FOR PEOPLE, MAYBE GOING SLOWLY. OF COURSE IT MAY NOT GO DOWN PRETTY HARD, BUT WE'LL BE WATCHING FOR SLIPPERY AREAS OUT THERE. FORTUNEDLY WE HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED A LOT OF SEVERE WEATHER HERE YET. THAT'S THE GOOD NEWS. I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO BE CONFUSED ABOUT IT, IF YOU HAVE, MAYBE YOU HAVE SEEN WHAT A PREVIOUS STORM HAS DONE OR WHAT IT'S DOING TODAY, BECAUSE MAYBE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN WITH THE NEXT STORM. SO ALL THE PREPARATIONS YOU'VE PROBABLY MADE TODAY, GOOD. KEEP IT UP. BECAUSE THAT ONLY MEANS YOU'RE PREPARED FOR THE NEXT STORM. WE'RE NOT COMPLETELY DONE YET. WE MAYBE IN A DRY PERIOD NOW, BUT WE'RE STILL FOLLOWING THE SYSTEM, WHICH IS MOVING TOWARDS BROWNFIELD RIGHT NOW, TOWARDS DENMARK AND NAPLES, AND THAT'S WHERE WE'LL FOLLOW IT. LOOKS LIKE IT'S A LITTLE STRONGER. SO WE'LL TALK ABOUT IT MORE AND FOLLOW IT ACTIVELY. RIGHT NOW. BUT WE'LL SEND IT BACK TO YOU IN THE STUDIO. ALL RIGHT. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THAT. KEEP IN TOUCH, EMILY. AND WE ACTUALLY WANT TO CHECK THIS OUT BEFORE WE LEAVE THE BODY, WE WANT TO CHECK OUT WITH CHIEF METEOROLOGIST ROGER GRISWOLD, WHO IS LOOKING AT A THUNDERSTORM WARNING. NOW, CONNOR, WE JUST TALKED ABOUT THIS A FEW MOMENTS AGO. AND AS EMILY IS TALKING TO US, THERE'S A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING RIGHT NOW ISSUED FOR THAT SAME CELL. THAT'S EAST OF BROWNFIELD, AND YOU CAN SEE IT'S NORTHWEST OF SEBAGO. IT'S MOVING AT A TREMENDOUS SPEED OF 55 MPH. SO THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING ALSO COVERS NAPLES BRIDGED IN. YOU CAN SEE IT EXTENDS ALL THE WAY THROUGH CRESCENT LAKE, ALMOST INTO THE POLAND AREA. A TORNADO IS POSSIBLE, AS I MENTIONED, WITH ANY OF THESE STORMS THAT START TO ROTAT. THE POSSIBILITY IS, BUT NOT RIGHT NOW. WE DO NOT HAVE A TORNADO WARNING. THIS WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6:45 AM. SO AGAIN, RIGHT ON ROUTE 302. YOU HAVE IT GOING IN. THERE WILL BE SOME GUSTS, SOME STORM GUNSHOT, LIGHTNING STRIKES ARE ALWAYS A PROBLEM. AND OF COURSE THE POSSIBILITY OF DAMAGING WIND AS WELL. 302 BRIDGTON NAPLES. IN FACT, FROM ALL THE WAY DOWN YOU CAN PROBABLY SEE CLOSER, EVEN INTO THE RAYMOND AREA. ALL RIGHT. NOW BACK TO YOU, CONNOR. AND I GUESS BONNIE IS NEXT UP. YES, THAT'S EXACTLY RIGHT. THANKS, ROGER. CONTINUING WITH OUR TOTAL WEATHER COVERAGE TONIGHT, OUR TEAM TOTAL WEATHER COVERAGE. LET'S GO TO BONNIE BISHOP, WHO HAS BEEN WATCHING SOUTHERN MAINE NEAR NEW HAMPSHIRE. BONNIE, WHAT CAN YOU TELL US RIGHT NOW ABOUT THE CONDITIONS OUT IN SANFORD? CONNOR. IT'S MINUTE BY MINUTE HERE. JUST TEN MINUTES AGO IT WAS JUST DRIGGING, AND NOW IT'S REALLY GETTING FASTER. AS YOU CAN SEE, YOU CAN SEE IT ABOVE THE WATER. IT'S REALLY DROPPING DOWN. AND THIS AFTERNOON A TORNADO WARNING WAS ISSUED FOR THE SANFORD AREA, WHICH COVERS ALL OF YOUR COUNTY. AND EVEN THOUGH WE'RE NOT SEEING TOO MUCH INTENSE ACTION RIGHT NOW, RESIDENTS CAN STILL EXPECT A THUNDERSTORM LATER THIS EVENING. AS ROGER MENTIONED, THESE STORMS CAN PRODUCE DESTRUCTIVE WINDS AND EVEN A SINGLE TORNADO, AND IT'S IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT RIGHT NOW IT'S JUST A TORNADO WARNING. BUT WHEN IT IS ISSUED, IT BECOMES A TORNADO WARNING. YOU WANT TO
