Tornado warning for New Hampshire still in effect

A tornado warning for New Hampshire was lifted late Sunday night after several storms throughout the day sparked several severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings. The tornado warning was originally in effect for the entire state until 8 p.m. and was extended to 10 p.m. for the southern two-thirds of the state, but was lifted as the tornado threat diminished after sunset. Earlier Sunday, a storm moved across southern New Hampshire, from Keene to Portsmouth, for two hours. The storm triggered several tornado warnings — including in the Keene area and later near Manchester — and severe thunderstorm warnings before moving out to sea around 7:15 p.m. More severe thunderstorm warnings were issued throughout the day in central and northern New Hampshire. The storms brought very strong wind gusts, small hail, lightning and downpours. It is not yet known if a tornado formed or reached a touchdown point.>> Interactive Radar Watch for the Weather! A tornado warning was issued for New Hampshire late Sunday evening after several storms throughout the day triggered several severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings.

The tornado warning was originally in effect for the entire state until 8 p.m. and was extended to 10 p.m. for the southern two-thirds of the state, but was lifted as the tornado threat diminished after sunset.

A storm moved across southern New Hampshire, from Keene to Portsmouth, for two hours early Sunday. The storm triggered several tornado warnings – including in the Keene area and later near Manchester – and severe thunderstorm warnings before moving out to sea around 7:15 p.m.

Later in the day, additional severe weather warnings were issued for central and northern New Hampshire.

The storms brought very strong wind gusts, small hail, lightning and heavy rain. It is not yet known whether a tornado formed or whether it made landfall.
