Officials identify North Shore woman who died in house fire

Authorities have determined the identity of a woman who died in a Level 4 overnight fire in Georgetown, Massachusetts, this weekend. Georgetown Fire Chief Matt McKay said the fire at 238 E. Main St. was first reported just before 10:50 p.m. Saturday. When emergency crews arrived, three people had escaped from the home, but one woman was still inside. The woman was found on the second floor with serious injuries. The woman was taken by ambulance to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, where she was later pronounced dead. Officials identified the woman as 80-year-old Nancy Holbrook. The home has been declared a total loss and residents are displaced, fire officials said. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Georgetown Fire Department with assistance from the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit and the State Fire Marshal's Office.

According to the fire department, the house was declared a total loss and the residents are now homeless.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Georgetown Fire Department with assistance from the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit at the State Fire Marshal's Office.
