Reactions to the Orlando Magic signing of Tristan da Silva from Colorado

After spending his final four years in the Colorado Buffaloes men's basketball program, Tristan da Silva was selected 18th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

Da Silva was projected to be the Magic's pick in some mock drafts, likely due to Orlando's preference for players of his archetype. He joins the ranks of long wingers who helped the Magic make the playoffs last season, including No. 8 pick Franz Wagner (2021) and top pick Paolo Banchero (2022).

Da Silva, a 6-foot-8 forward from Germany, was selected just eighth overall after his CU colleague Cody Williams went to the Utah Jazz.
