Coroner announces name of fatal accident victim

FROM GREENVILLE COUNTY. THIS MORNING. THE DEATH CERTIFICATION OFFICE RESPONDED TO AN ACCIDENT. THE DEATH CERTIFICATION OFFICE SAYS THE CALL CAME IN SHORTLY AFTER 615. THIS MORNING. The name of a Greenville, South Carolina, motorist who died in a crash near I-385 in the early morning hours was released by the coroner's office Thursday. The call came in just after 6:15 a.m. and was in reference to a single-vehicle crash on the I-385 frontage road, near the Patewood Drive overpass. That's south of Orchard Park Drive and near St. Francis Eastside Hospital. Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kristy Strange said Edward Montague Trotten, 67, of Greenville died at the scene of the crash. She said an external examination will be conducted later Thursday to determine the cause and manner of death.

The name of a Greenville, South Carolina driver who died in an early morning crash near I-385 was released by the coroner's office Thursday.

The 911 call came in shortly after 6:15 a.m. and was referring to a car crash on the frontage road of I-385, near the Patewood Drive overpass.

This is south of Orchard Park Drive and near St. Francis Eastside Hospital.

Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kristy Strange said Edward Montague Trotten, 67, of Greenville died at the scene of the accident.

She said an external examination would be conducted later Thursday to determine the cause and manner of death.
