What the latest SCOTUS abortion ruling means for Massachusetts

What the latest SCOTUS abortion ruling means for Massachusetts and the rest of the country

COUNTRY. WELL, WE CAN TELL YOU THE RULING CERTAINLY DOESN'T SOLVE THE CASE. AND TONIGHT, ABORTION RIGHTS ACTIVISTS ARE SAYING IT'S WAY TOO EARLY FOR A VICTORY LAP AFTER THE SUPREME COURT RULED THAT IDAHO HOSPITALS MUST ALLOW EMERGENCY ABORTIONS FOR NOW, EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A NEARLY TOTAL BAN IN THE STATE. THE JUDGES HAVE RETURNED THE DECISION TO THE LOWER COURTS. IT'S A TEMPORARY VICTORY FOR THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION, BUT NOT EVERYONE SEES IT THAT WAY. THIS IS NOT A VICTORY. THIS IS A DELAY. THIS IS THE SUPREME COURT PUSHING THE ISSUE FORWARD, WAITING TO MAKE A DECISION ON THE CONSTITUTIONALITY OF WOMEN'S LIVES. MASSACHUSETTS CITIZENS FOR LIFE SAYS THE IDAHO LAW DOES NOT CONFLICT WITH FEDERAL HEALTH CARE LAW, ADDING THAT BY COLLABORATING WITH THE ABORTION INDUSTRY TO PROVIDE UNLIMITED ACCESS TO ABORTIONS, THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION HAS SUCCESSFULLY CONFUSED AND AFRAID THE AVERAGE AMERICAN AND SUED AGAINST IT. IDAHO IS JUST THE LATEST EXAMPLE OF LOCAL LAWYERS BEING CRITICAL OF THE FORMER PRESIDENT AND THE COURT. IT IS DONALD TRUMP AND THE GOP WHO HAVE DISMANTAINED WOMEN'S HEALTH CARE AND REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM IN THIS COUNTRY. Sen. Elizabeth Warren says the Supreme Court decided to wait until after the election to tell Americans whether women in crisis can get the emergency medical care they need. The Supreme Court does not have the final say on abortion. The American people do. This week, Gov. Maura Healey signed an executive order affirming access to emergency abortion care. She says Massachusetts will always protect access to needed medical care, including emergency abortion care. This was a Court decision, and it is widely expected to end up before the Court again. This is the Court's decision.

A local abortion rights activist says the ruling is not a victory, but rather the Supreme Court is only putting the issue off.
