NC State signs baseball transfer Ryan Jaros from Georgia Tech

NC State continues to move forward and expand its roster for 2025. This time, it is adding corner infielder Ryan Jaros from Georgia Tech.

Jaros was a top-150 player in the class of 2023, rated as a 9.5 prospect (on a scale of 10) and was the 6th best third baseman in the class. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

It's unclear if the 6-foot-3, 215-pound New Jersey native will be recruited as a first or third baseman, but with the graduations of Alec Makarewicz and Garret Pennington, the Wolfpack have holes at both positions for the 2025 season. The bet is that he will remain at the hot corner, where his defense is generally solid (2 errors; .931 fielding percentage) and has plenty of potential. He's an all-field hitter with a gap approach.

Jaros played primarily as a reliever for the Yellow Jackets in 2024, starting 11 of the 26 games he appeared in, hitting .343/.511/.543, 21.3 BB%, 23.4 K%, 0-0 SB. Eight of his starts came in April, in which he hit 7-for-20 (.350) with 3 2B, 8 R, 1 RBI, 5 BB, 1 HBP, and 6 K. He had three multi-hit games for Georgia Tech: against Georgia (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI, BB), at Pittsburgh (3-for-4, 2 2B, 2 R), and at Virginia (2-for-4, 2B, 2 R, RBI).

Jaros was high school teammates with NC State RHP Shane Van Dam at Cranford High School.
