Barricaded man in “active standoff” with police officers

A 911 call about a disturbance at a home in Greenville County, South Carolina, on Friday led to a standoff with a man barricaded himself, officials said. According to Jeremy Holt of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, the 911 call about a disturbance came in around 10 a.m. on Wallace Street. That's west of Mills Avenue, near Whitten Street. Holt said when officers arrived, a man had barricaded himself inside the home. He said it was not immediately known if anyone else was in the home. Holt said the SWAT team did not arrive at the scene. Live video from the scene showed police cruisers lining the street and neighbors near the scene watching the activity. By 1 p.m., all units had left the scene. No further information was immediately released.

He said they did not yet know if anyone else was in the house.

According to Holt, the SWAT team did not arrive at the scene.

Live video from the scene showed police patrol cars lining the street and neighbors near the scene watching the incident.

By 1 p.m. all units had disappeared from the crime scene.

No further information was immediately released.
