Illinois State receives recognition in the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll

Illinois State University has been re-inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society's 2024 Transfer Honor Roll, joining a select group of 228 universities nationwide, solidifying its reputation as a top destination for transfer students.

The award recognizes four-year colleges and universities for their exemplary support in transferring students to community colleges.

Illinois State is one of only nine institutions named to the Transfer Honor Roll since the award was introduced in 2016, recognizing the university's consistency and excellence in mentoring transfer Redbirds.

Institutions are selected based on 40 key metrics that consider transfer student support and success, as well as analysis from the National Student Clearinghouse and data submitted by universities through PTK Connect. PTK Connect is a platform used by prospective transfer students to gather information and find the four-year school that is best for them. The portal uses this information to create a transfer-friendliness score.

Illinois State welcomes approximately 2,000 new Redbirds to campus each year and offers support services and counseling to ensure these students have a smooth transition.

Transfer students can learn more about life as a transfer Redbird by visiting campus.

Phi Theta Kappa is recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges as the official honor society for community colleges.
