New Jersey's largest festival was a huge success. Mosaic remains your event guide.

North 2 Shore, New Jersey's largest festival, is wrapping up this weekend. The closing comes after 243 events at over 100 venues across the state over the past three weeks.

Since it all began on June 10, thousands have gathered to hear some of the nation's biggest stars, including Gabriel Iglesias, Matchbox Twenty, the B-52s and Kevin Hart.

Festival audiences also discovered bands and singers who hail from New Jersey, artists like Rahway native Eric Roberson, who performed with Avery*Sunshine in Atlantic City last week, or comedian Sommore, a Trenton native. And there was Mary Cross, whose band first performed in Atlantic City 15 years ago. She returned to the city last week for a sold-out performance during North to Shore.

Local painters and dancers entertained the crowd, as did Alicia Whavers of Newark, who won one of the dozens of North to Shore grants to bring her new project to the stage and also had a sold-out performance during the festival.

Mosaic, the new website from New Jersey Advance Media, covered many of these performances extensively. Our mission is to celebrate the richness of the state's diverse cultures, and no festival in New Jersey is more diverse than North to Shore. We also covered it because it was clear that New Jerseyans would enjoy this celebration of the arts.

First Lady Tammy Murphy said in an opinion piece this weekend that it was clear during the festival's first year last year that there was “a strong appetite” for the festival. This year, North to Shore attracted 220,000 guests and generated nearly $8 million in ticket sales.

This year, officials expect even better numbers when all of the revenue from North to Shore 2024 is added together. Murphy says they are “on track” to generate revenue of over $13 million, even though two-thirds of the festival's events were free to the public.

So there's plenty of time this week to learn more about the few remaining events and catch up on any festival stories you may have missed. All of those stories are live on Mosaic. Recent events include comedy shows from Inglesias, Hart and Zarna Garg, a concert by Jhené Aiko and friends and the massive Audible Showcase this weekend in Newark.

No one has turned off the lights yet, so we hope you enjoy New Jersey's biggest festival until its bittersweet end.
