Officials search for missing Southern California woman

Family members and officials are searching for a missing autistic woman from Ventura County.

Zyanya Valora, 21, is considered endangered and went missing on June 24, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

She was last seen around 8 p.m. leaving her home in Mira Monte, a suburb in Ojai Valley.

She is described as being 5'10″ tall and weighing around 90 pounds. She has black hair and dark brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white top, shorts and no shoes.

Zyanya has autism and is considered missing and at risk, authorities said.

Officials noted: “Zyanya may not respond communicatively when spoken to.”

Search and rescue teams from several counties are looking for Zyanya. An unmanned aerial unit, sniffer dogs and other special teams are also deployed.

“Searches are taking place daily and during the evening hours and will continue through the weekend,” Ventura County officials said. “You can help with the search by walking your private property and searching buildings and dense brush where Zyanya may be taking refuge.”

Residents are also asked to check home surveillance footage for sightings of the woman.

Anyone who may have seen Zyanya is asked to call the Ventura County Sheriff's Office at 805-654-9511.

“We thank the public for being alert to any sightings and supporting us by sharing on social media,” officials said. “Thank you to all local businesses who have put up flyers with information about Zyanya.”
