Weddington 4-star DL Trajen Odom commits to Ohio State

Weddington High School rising senior defensive lineman Trajen Odom committed to Ohio State University on Friday. He committed to the Buckeyes on his social media accounts.

Odom transferred to Weddington after spending the first three years of his high school career at Panther Creek High in Cary.

He committed to Ohio State out of a top six that also featured Colorado, Georgia, Oregon, UCLA, and USC. The in-state Power 5 schools never got heavily involved in Odom’s recruitment.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound defensive lineman is considered a 4-star prospect by On3 and ESPN. 247Sports and Rivals rate Odom as a 3-star.

On3 has Odom ranked as the No. 138 class of 2025 prosect in the country and the No. 6 rising senior in North Carolina. 247 and ESPN have Odom slotted as the eight-best 2025 prospect in North Carolina, while Rivals has him at No. 9. He does not appear on the national rankings for any of the last three.

During his junior season last fall, Odom was credited with 54 total tackles, 22 tackles for a loss, and a forced fumble. As a sophomore in 2022, he had 41 total tackles and 11 tackles for a loss. Odom has been credited with nine career sacks.
