Senator Shaheen visits Jules Bisson Park in the City of Somersworth

SOMERSWORTH — U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen visited Jules Bisson Park in Somersworth Wednesday morning to highlight the importance of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant program. Deputy Mayor and Councilman David Witham welcomed Senator Shaheen to Somersworth and thanked the Senator for her support of the LWFC program funds. He also mentioned the significant improvements to other recreational areas in the city such as the Noble Pines Splash Pad, the kayak launch at Mast Point Dam and other related improvements made possible with the LWCF grant funds. Councilmen Nancie Cameron, Rick Michaud and Don Austin were also on hand to thank the Senator for her years of support. The Senator commented on her commitment to the city, including working with former Mayor George Bald and others to organize the launch of Somersworth's International Children's Festival.
