Independence Day celebrations are planned throughout the south coast, including parades, carnivals, and even events such as street races and horse shows.

But the highlight of every Independence Day celebration and usually the grand finale is fireworks.

People in the Greater Fall River area are no doubt preparing for Fall River's spectacular Fourth of July waterfront celebration, complete with fireworks that some ticket holders will be able to watch from the deck of the USS Massachusetts.

People from all over the South Coast will travel to watch the fireworks displays, and spectacular events are also planned in New Bedford, Freetown and other nearby communities.

After the 4th of July, you can even look forward to fireworks, as Taunton is hosting a summer festival soon.
