Missing prisoner caught on camera at Walmart in South Carolina

“DO NOT APPROACH HIM…”

Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) are searching for an escaped inmate who was last seen at a Walmart in Greenville County, a department spokesman said. Renée Wunderlich.

Billy Reed Fletcher43, is believed to have escaped from the Carter County Detention Center in Elizabethton, Tennessee on Thursday, June 20, 2024. On Monday, June 24, 2024, Fletcher was filmed leaving Walmart Supercenter #641 on White Horse Road in Greenville County, SC

“On June 20, 2024, Billy Fletcher … walked off duty at the Carter County Jail,” the Carter County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) wrote on Facebook. “Billy Fletcher was taken into custody for a parole violation. Billy Fletcher has an active arrest warrant for escape.”

Authorities describe Fletcher as 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 230 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. They urge anyone with information to contact SLED by phone at 803-737-9000 or by email at [email protected].
