Tristan da Silva's 4 best performances in Colorado

The 2024 NBA Draft is officially over and the Orlando Magic have added their newest member with the 18th pick of the first round, winger Tristan da Silva.

Da Silva, who hails from Coach Mosley's alma mater, the University of Colorado, averaged 11.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in his college career. His numbers improved each season, and as a senior he recorded 16 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward was twice named to the Pac-12 All-Conference and helped his team reach the NCAA Tournament in his final season, where they lost to second-seeded Marquette in the round of 32.

With Silva having a stellar college career, it's no surprise that his name was called by the commissioner on draft night. But what accomplishments got him here?

Orlando Magic Daily takes a look back at Tristan da Silva's time in Colorado and recognizes some of his standout plays. Here are 4 of Tristan da Silva's best performances in college.

In a 68-41 win over conference rival University of Oregon, da Silva scored his career-high in points, scoring 30 points against the Ducks. With stats of 30 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds, he WAS Colorado's offense, scoring or assisting on over half of the team's points.

Not only did he score a lot of points, he did so efficiently. Shooting 3-of-4 three-pointers and 11-of-17 from the field, da Silva showed he could be a key scorer without being the team's primary scoring option or ball-handler (KJ Simpson usually held that role when da Silva was at Colorado).

The idea of having another wing player in Orlando who can shoot and score without dominating the ball suggests this choice works. As the Magic continue to develop Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero into NBA All-Star players, young players like da Silva will need to be able to do a lot with few opportunities if they want to break into the rotation and become impact players for this Magic team.
