On average, it costs drivers $49.65 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline.

“The summer season has officially begun, and just like the mercury in the thermometer, gasoline prices are rising,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA-The Auto Club Group. “The rise in crude oil prices continues to be the main reason for the escalation at the pump. Over 2 million Georgians are expected to take to the streets on July 4. Increased demand could also lead to a price increase this week.”

The most expensive markets in Georgia are Savannah ($3.39), Atlanta ($3.34), and Gainesville ($3.29). The cheapest markets in the Georgia metropolitan area are Rome ($3.22), Dalton ($3.20), and Catoosa-Dade-Walker ($3.15).
