Below are the rankings for both types of courses, compiled by our nationwide network of raters. The hundreds of members of our course rating panel continually rate courses, awarding them 10 points on a point scale of 1 to 10. They also give each course an overall rating. These overall ratings are averaged to create all of our Golfweek's Best Course Rankings.

The courses on the first list are open to the public in some form, whether through the usual daily green fees, through a resort, or by staying at an affiliated hotel. Where there's a will, there's a tee time – no membership required.
