Why are so many people leaving Idaho?

Idaho is one of the fastest growing states in the country and it seems like many towns in the Gem State are getting bigger every day. A new neighbor moves in, a new store opens, new homes are built and the population is growing rapidly. Despite Idaho's population boom, there are also many people leaving the state. Everyone has different reasons for moving. It may be a job, a financial situation, a family situation or perhaps something else. What is most alarming is that the people moving away seem to have been born and raised in Idaho. But why are they leaving their home?

Many people are moving to the Gem State, but many native and raised Idahoans have decided to move away, but the reason may be surprising. The good news is that Idaho is among the top five states with the fewest movers, but those that are moving away are not the ones you want to leave. According to a recent study on finance1st.com The reason people leave is the lack of busy cities and job opportunities. The percentage of people moving out of Idaho is 32.6 percent. That may seem high, but it's low compared to other states.

According to the survey, the cost of living is what draws people to the Gem State, but despite the cost, it's not enough to keep everyone here. Perhaps one of the reasons a third of Idaho residents want to leave the state is the 5.4 percent population growth over the past two years. While the state is beautiful and offers great outdoor recreation opportunities, it's not for everyone, and the lack of big cities and jobs leaves many looking elsewhere. While the way out is Great And The summers and springs are pleasant, the long winters can also take their toll and have many in search of warmer conditions and shorter winters.

As the state continues to grow, locals are finding ways to escape the population boom. Compared to other states, outmigration is not as extreme, but it is surprising that so many are leaving their home state.
