Weare, NH – Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on June 29, 2024, New Hampshire Fish and Game was contacted by the New Hampshire State Police dispatch center and informed of an ATV accident in the Town of Weare. The accident occurred at the All Seasons Campground. Weare Police and EMS, New Boston Police and EMS, Henniker EMS, and a conservation officer were at the scene of the accident.

While driving on the campground roads, 55-year-old Thomas Silva of Derry, New Hampshire, along with a minor passenger, approached a road intersection. The minor held the throttle and accelerated the ATV to a high rate of speed. Silva attempted to correct this but lost control of the ATV and overturned. Silva sustained minor injuries while the minor sustained serious injuries. Henniker Ambulance then transported the minor to Concord Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

At the time of the accident, the minor and the driver were not wearing helmets or other protective equipment. Alcohol is also being investigated as a possible contributing factor to the accident. New Hampshire Fish and Game reminds OHRV riders that anyone under the age of 18 is required to wear a helmet.
