Boise: Gasoline price increase of 6 cents

Prices in Boise are 14 cents lower than a month ago and 32 cents lower than a year ago, GasBuddy said.

BOISE, Idaho — The average price for a gallon of gasoline in Boise has increased by about 6 cents in the past week, according to GasBuddy. The new average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.57 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, prices in Boise are 14 cents lower than a month ago and 32 cents lower than a year ago.

GasBuddy reports that the cheapest gas station in Boise on Sunday was $3.35 per gallon, while the most expensive station was $3.63 per gallon – a difference of 28 cents.

In the state of Idaho, the lowest price station charged $3.20 per gallon and the highest price station charged $4.19 per gallon, a difference of 99 cents.

The national average price of gasoline also rose 5 cents this week, now at $3.46 per gallon. According to GasBuddy, the national average price is six cents lower than a month ago and five cents lower than a year ago.

“Over the course of this week, as we approach the Fourth of July, motorists have seen the national average price of gasoline increase ever so slightly for the third week in a row,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “While the price increases have been relatively modest and oil prices have remained above $80 per barrel, we could see another slight increase in the national average price. In other areas experiencing price volatility, prices spiked earlier in the week, but in those areas, prices are now beginning to fall again. For many Americans hitting the road on the Fourth of July, prices in most areas are very comparable to those of July 4th last year. However, with Hurricane Beryl now forming in the Caribbean, we are reminded that gasoline prices could see some shocks in the second half of the summer should a storm threaten refinery capacity in Texas or Louisiana.”
