On Monday, Paris spoke to the media and hinted that a new hire could be made soon. He also spoke about the timing and what he looks for when hiring an assistant.

“It was a good, thorough search,” Paris said. “To be completely transparent, we were in a situation where we didn't need to rush. We have commitments for the class of 2025 and we saw some kids this past weekend during live hours. The focus, even through July, is on the 2025 kids. We have three kids committed and may take another, but that's uncertain. To bring someone in and hit the ground running from a recruiting standpoint didn't have the urgency we expected.

“We've made it a priority to spend time with our guys, get everything in order and start the summer strong. We've made significant progress and I expect to be able to announce our direction soon. I value familiarity, teachability, hard work and loyalty. I'm excited about this new addition who should be coming very soon.”

Bailey joins the Gamecocks after spending just one season at Loyola Chicago. He previously worked at Saint Louis.

Will Bailey previously worked at the space, State of East Tennessee, Maine, Chicago State And UAB.
