South Carolina's top recruit expected to move to Georgia Football

The Georgia Bulldogs were a big winner in college football recruiting in June and are now looking to carry that momentum into July. According to one recruiting expert, Georgia could be on track to do just that by poaching a new recruit from a rival school.

Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports predicts the Bulldogs will sign Shamari Earls, a four-star cornerback currently under contract with Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Earls is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound cornerback from Chester, Virginia, who has been under contract with the Gamecocks since April. Earls recently visited Athens on June 21. Michigan has also been heavily involved in his recruitment. He is the eighth-best cornerback in the country and the second-best player in Virginia.

While at Thomas Dale High School, Earls was a star in both football and track. He played as a two-way player and recorded 25 tackles and three interceptions on defense last season, along with 715 yards and eight touchdowns as a receiver while also working as a return specialist.

Georgia does not currently have a defensive back signed for the class of 2025. In addition to Earls, the Bulldogs have recently been linked to four-star safeties Jaylan Morgan and Rashad Johnson.
