Florida mother charged after breaking into Patrick Space Force Base and chase

Cocoa, Florida. – A Cocoa mother has been charged after Patrick Space Force Base was broken into earlier this year, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Justice Department officials said in a press release that 29-year-old Krishna Janosky entered the base “without lawful authority” in February.

At the time, officials said Janosky rammed through the base's gate before getting out of her car with her four-year-old son and placing him in a waiting vehicle.

“While on base, Janosky obtained and used another person's motor vehicle despite knowing that she had no right to use the vehicle,” the Justice Department press release said.

The owner of the vehicle was still in the driver's seat when Janosky got in, but was ordered to get out by a base employee. Janosky remained in the front seat and she was able to escape in it, according to an affidavit.

She then fled the base “at a high rate of speed,” and officers pursued Janosky into Indian River County, where she was eventually stopped, investigators said.

According to officers, she provided them with the following information after her arrest:

“Krishna began to explain that she was in a hotel where veterans were present, but she was scared because they didn't know if they were there to help her or not. Krishna then went on to explain that she left the hotel with her four-year-old son.

Krishna stated that she reached the base and followed the vehicle in front of her. She was then instructed to stop and fearing what “they” would do to her, she got into the man's vehicle. Krishna recounted that she got her son out of her vehicle and put him in this male subject's vehicle. She got in the passenger seat and crouched down. The man was taken out of the vehicle so she got in the driver's seat and drove off. Krishna stated that she did not know the male subject but he gave her permission to take him.”

However, officers said the vehicle had been reported stolen at the base, contradicting Janosky's claim that the victim gave her the car.

Janosky also told officers that the gate was not opened for her as she drove through. She was aware of the officers' pursuit but “did not stop out of fear,” the affidavit states.

Janosky was charged on Friday with trespassing on military property, grand theft, fleeing and evading authorities, and damaging state property.

If convicted on all counts, she faces up to 30 years in prison.
