New Hampshire Department of Health warns of measles infections in Hanover

A possibly infected traveler visited the campuses of Hanover and Dartmouth College from June 20 to 22 and may have been infectious at different locations.

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is investigating a report of an international traveler who may have exposed vulnerable individuals to the risk of measles. DHHS is using all available avenues to gather more information, including confirming the traveler's test results and symptoms. According to a press release, the traveler visited Hanover and the Dartmouth College campus June 20-22 before flying home, where he may have been infectious at the following locations: June 20-22: Dartmouth College campus June 20-22: The Hanover Inn June 20: 3 p.m., Hanover Scoops June 20-22 June 14-16: Lou's Restaurant and Bakery (one meal, unknown time) June 22: Dartmouth Coach Bus from Hanover to Boston Logan Airport There are currently no confirmed cases of measles in New Hampshire, although the department urges anyone who has not been vaccinated or previously infected and has been in the following locations on the dates and times indicated to be on the lookout for symptoms of measles. According to DHHS, symptoms of measles include high fever, cough, runny nose and watery eyes several days before developing a body rash.

According to a press release, the traveler visited Hanover and the Dartmouth College campus from June 20-22 before flying back home, where he may have been infectious in the following locations:

  • June 20 – 22: Dartmouth College Campus
  • 20 – 22 June: The Hanover Inn
  • 20 June: 3pm, Hanover Scoops
  • June 20 – 22: Lou's Restaurant and Bakery (one meal, time unknown)
  • June 22: Dartmouth coach from Hanover to Boston Logan Airport

There are currently no confirmed cases of measles in New Hampshire. However, the department is urging anyone who is unvaccinated or already infected and who has been in the following locations on the following days and at the times indicated to monitor for measles symptoms.

According to DHHS, symptoms of measles include high fever, cough, runny nose and watery eyes that appear several days before a rash appears.
