Pennsylvania residents are now eligible for the EBT summer program

(WTAJ) — Attention Pennsylvania residents! Applications are now open for the EBT/SUN Bucks Summer Child Nutrition Program.

Summer EBT/SUN Bucks provides low-income families with money to feed their school-age children during the summer. Applications are now open. Eligible families with children participating in free or reduced-price school meal programs will receive assistance to purchase food during the summer.

If you are already enrolled in SNAP, TANF or FDPIR, your school-age children will automatically be enrolled in SUN Bucks. Once enrolled, families can receive up to $120 per child to purchase food.

It is important to note that families can receive SUN Bucks in addition to other benefits such as SNAP and WIC.

For example, you can use SUN Bucks to buy fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry and fish, dairy products, and grains. However, you cannot use this program to buy pet food, cleaning supplies, or medicine. Many grocery stores, markets, and convenience stores accept SUN Bucks, and often SNAP and WIC as well.
