Florida Panthers and Scripps sign agreement to broadcast games on free TV next season

Fort Myers residents don't need cable TV to watch the Florida Panthers attempt to defend their Stanley Cup title.

The Panthers announced that they have signed a multi-year agreement with Scripps Sports to broadcast their games locally to residents of Miami/Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Fort Myers. Panthers games were previously broadcast on Bally Sports.

Fox4 is the region's Scripps affiliate, but the teams have not yet announced which network will broadcast games next season.

Under this new agreement, EW Scripps Company will be able to broadcast all of the Panthers' locally televised preseason, regular season and first round NHL playoff games on cable, satellite and terrestrial television, making it the new television home of Florida Panthers hockey.
