Attorney General John M. Formella announced that two of his offices will review HCA Healthcare's acquisition of Catholic Medical Center.

The Charitable Trust Unit and the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau will ensure the transaction is in the best interest of the community and assess its impact on competition in New Hampshire, officials said.

Representatives of the Attorney General's Office said that a review of the takeovers was essential to ensure that citizens received high-quality health care at reasonable costs.

According to officials, public comments on the proposed agreement will be accepted and input from government agencies will be taken into account when deciding whether to move forward with the agreement.
