Massachusetts State Police investigate fatal multi-vehicle fiery crash on I-195 – Fall River Reporter

Massachusetts State Police are investigating a fatal fiery crash on the highway.

State Police-Dartmouth patrol officers responded to reports of a three-vehicle crash on Route 195 westbound off Exit 1 in Seekonk shortly after 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to Trooper Brandon Doherty.

When police arrived, all three lanes were closed to allow life-saving measures for the occupants of the vehicles involved. The driver of a 2022 Toyota Highlander, a 36-year-old man from Springfield, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The crash also involved a 2022 Ford F650 driven by a 45-year-old man from North Easton, as well as a 2020 Kenworth semi-truck driven by a 31-year-old man from Hallandale, Florida. The driver of the Ford was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

The exact cause and circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation by members of the Massachusetts State Police Troop D, as well as officers from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, the Crime Scene Services Section and the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., all lanes were reopened and the accident site was cleared. Officers were assisted on site by members of the Seekonk Fire Department and EMS, as well as MassDOT.
