“I felt the explosion throughout my body,” said neighbor Evan Deleidi.

Three men suffered severe burns.

Peabody Fire Chief Jay Dowling said Tuesday afternoon that firefighters responded to several calls about a mobile home explosion.

When emergency services arrived, they found the mobile home completely engulfed in flames. There were fears that the fire could spread to the surrounding houses.

All three victims were conscious and awake.

Dowling said two of the victims, in their 40s and 70s, were flown to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment of their burns. A man in his 20s was taken to Lahey Hospital in Burlington.

Investigators believe the men were outside the RV. Authorities are investigating reports that they were working on the vehicle at the time.

Neighbors said the family planned to head to the Grand Canyon in their RV on Friday.

It is not known what caused the explosion.

“My house shook,” said John O'Donnell, who lives down the street. “The explosion was very loud.”
