Episode Notes

When Roe v. Wade was overturned, Idaho enacted a near-total abortion ban that allowed health exemptions only if they were “necessary to prevent the death of the pregnant woman.” However, a case finding that the ban conflicted with a federal law called “EMTALA” went all the way to the Supreme Court before being sent back to lower courts—where the ban was neither overturned nor upheld in Idaho.

Guest: Dr. Stacy Seyb, maternal and child medicine specialist in Boise, Idaho.
