The launch of a SpaceX rocket brings an early sunrise over Florida's Space Coast

On the eve of Independence Day, anyone who stayed up, got up early, or was already on the move was treated to an impressive spectacle. After a bright burst of light lit up the sky Wednesday morning, a SpaceX Falcon 9 took to the air before beginning the landing of its booster rocket – which became visible as it touched down over the Atlantic Ocean.

The booster's blast from the sky like a sparkling marvel was something not many expected. The Falcon 9's vapor was visible from across the Space Coast, leaving a colorful glow as the sun neared the horizon – the early sunlight illuminating the booster's landing track.

Florida is one of the few places where both fireworks and rockets decorate the sky.

The rocket's second stage launched from Space Launch Complex 40, carrying the latest 20 Starlink internet satellites into orbit. This time, 13 of those satellites had direct-to-cell capabilities that will provide mobile Starlink service to customers.

SpaceX had already adjusted the launch time three times before the rocket took to the skies. No reason was given for the delay, but radar showed some weather activity over the Atlantic.

After just over eight minutes of flight time, the Falcon 9 first stage booster made a visible, controlled landing on the A lack of seriousness Drone ship on the Atlantic Ocean, which will be returned to Port Canaveral by ferry in the next few days.

This trail, rarely seen during drone landings, remained illuminated by dawn light for over an hour – leaving a colorful patch in the sky next to a crescent moon and Jupiter.

According to SpaceX, it was the 16th flight of this Falcon 9. It had previously carried out 10 Starlink missions: SES-22, iSpace's HAKUTO-R MISSION 1, Amazon-6, CRS-27 and Bandwagon-1. None of these previous flights were manned missions.
