Dry and warm conditions are forecast for the West on July 4th! | Local Weather in Montana

Montana – Central and eastern Montana experienced severe small-cell thunderstorms that moved across radar with gusty winds up to 40 mph and pea-sized hail.

Thunderstorms are possible in central and eastern Montana through tonight. However, this afternoon the weather in the west changed from rain and overcast skies to clear, sunny weather.

Our satellite radar will remain very busy tomorrow after a calm, partly cloudy and mostly dry night. Most of our region will have the possibility of rain showers and thunderstorms until the early hours of Thursday morning.

There may be showers again on Bank Holiday Thursday, but our weather forecast predicts mainly dry and partly cloudy, calm weather – perfect for swimming!

Very dry, clear and hot weather conditions will return the weekend after Independence Day. Wind gusts of up to 15 mph are possible through the weekend, but no major high wind events are forecast.

Lows tonight will drop to just under 4 degrees in Butte and 10 degrees in the Glasgow area, while Missoula, Helena, Great Falls and Bozeman will hover around 10 degrees. Tomorrow we expect highs similar to today, with most areas seeing temperatures between 18 and 24 degrees.

Warming conditions after July 4thth and clearer skies bring perfect weather for outdoor celebrations. Temperatures will continue to rise at the start of next week, reaching over 30 degrees in most areas by Monday, and there is a very low chance of rain.

This warming will continue into the beginning of the week, bringing with it a heat wave with temperatures well above normal and even worse conditions for the next 8 to 14 days.
