Family asks southern Utah residents for help after missing man's car found near Jacob Lake Inn – St George News

ST. GEORGE – Braonain McGinnis, 24, was last seen more than five months ago, on December 21, 2023, in the Glen Burnie area of ​​Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

Family friend Lucas Frasier is asking southern Utah residents to be vigilant as the missing man's car was later found more than 2,000 miles away in northern Arizona.

According to a Jan. 23 press release from the Coconino County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle driven by McGinnis was found on Jan. 3 near State Route 89A in Page, Arizona. Investigators said they currently have no known destination for McGinnis.

According to the Maryland Center for Missing and Unidentified Persons, McGinnis is 6 feet tall, weighs 180 pounds, has long hair and a full beard, and was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans, and Vans sneakers. Frasier said McGinnis' phone stopped beeping the night he disappeared. and a withdrawal was made from his bank account.

“The phone was either turned off or dead and not being used,” Frasier said. “Hours before he left, he withdrew $200 from his bank account at an ATM. There has been no activity on his debit or credit cards since then.”

Arizona Department of Public Safety officers found the Hyundai Accent sedan driven by McGinnis between House Rock Road and Jacob Lake Inn near mile marker 570 on SR-89A.

“When his vehicle was discovered, there were no license plates on his vehicle and there was about 15 miles of gas left in the tank,” he said. “He may have had his phone with him – a red Galaxy with a black Otterbox, his license plate, Maryland plate 9CY0074, or a black and yellow jacket.”

Frasier said the family hopes those who are recreating near the area will look for things not normally found in the wild. If anyone happens to see McGinnis in person, Frasier said his name is pronounced “Brennan.”

“He may have dropped or discarded one of these items,” he said. “We would be grateful if anyone would keep an eye out for them, as they could provide us with valuable information about his current or past whereabouts.”

Frasier said the sheriff's office's search and rescue team had conducted searches in surrounding areas, but no leads had been found as of June 7, when he last spoke with detectives.
