New information on two fatal accidents released

The Anderson County Coroner's Office released new information on two separate crashes that occurred on approximately the same day Wednesday morning. Coroner Greg Shore said the first crash occurred around 5 a.m. on Brown Road near Twin Lakes Drive. He identified the driver of the motorcycle as Nicholas Brett Dowis, 43, of Anderson, who died at the scene. South Carolina Highway Patrol officials said Dowis' 2022 Honda moped was traveling westbound on Brown Road when it collided with the 2022 Jeep SUV that was turning onto Brown Road from a stop sign on Twin Lakes Drive. Shore said Dowis was not wearing a helmet. The cause of accidental death was blunt trauma, according to Shore. Police said the driver of the Jeep was not injured. The second crash also occurred around 5 a.m. off East Greenville Street near McLees Road in Anderson, Shore said. That was near the Sonic Drive-In. Quintarius Tyshaun Holloway, 22, of Anderson died at the scene, according to Shore. He said Holloway was driving a sedan east on Greenville Street at a high rate of speed when he crossed the center lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck. Shore said it did not appear Holloway was wearing a seatbelt at the time of impact. Police have not yet released any information about that accident.

The second collision also occurred around 5 a.m. off East Greenville Street near McLees Road in Anderson, Shore said.

This is near the Sonic Drive-In.

According to Shore, Quintarius Tyshaun Holloway, 22, of Anderson died at the scene of the accident.

He said Holloway was driving a sedan east on Greenville Street at a high rate of speed when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a pickup truck.

Shore said it did not appear that Holloway was wearing a seatbelt at the time of impact.

Police have not yet released any information about this crash.
